Shockwave

A novel about the end of the world as we know it

by Knox

In a world of idiots, degenerate aliens and the PSYCI supercomputer, a lone woman struggles to guide the rebirth of a post-apocalyptic Earth as nature takes back control.

A surreal poetic view of the end of the world as we know it through the dystopian eyes of the ordinary people who go through an unexpected cataclysm. As Kathy’s journey into her unimaginable future progresses, it becomes a metaphor that reflects on all of us.

Says Knox: “Shockwave is a novel that I wrote in bits and pieces on the road with the band and whenever I got back home. I guess it’s as nearly insane as I am.  The plot is partly about something that could happen now, as our world falls increasingly into a fragile state, and partly about how us humans seem to be always in our own freefall to disaster.”

About Knox:

Ian ‘Knox’ Carnochan is a founder member of punk rock band the Vibrators. Other bands include Urban Dogs with the UK Subs’ Charlie Harper, and Fallen Angels with members of Hanoi Rocks. He has stopped touring but continues to write and record with the Vibrators. He is also an artist, and he founded the charity shop Rock’n’Roll Rescue which sells second-hand rock gear, clothing & vinyl, next door to the famed Dublin Castle venue in Camden Town, London. His book The Vibrators: 21 Years of Punk Mania was published in 1997.
