NICK AWDE writes about music, theatre and sometimes dance (in the process of compiling the pieces I've written in one place on this one site, so there’s not here at the moment apart from mostly very new 2022 stuff plus design is still being worked on) — So... Nick is a journalist, playwright, editor, critic, artist, musician, translator and producer. Based in the UK, he is co-director of Morecambe’s Alhambra Live Theatre. Books include Mellotron: The Machine and the Musicians That Revolutionised Rock, Singer-Songwriters Vols 1 & 2, Equal Stages (diversity and inclusion in theatre), Women In Islam, Chechen Phrasebook (with Muhammad Galaev), and translations of stage plays by other writers. Music includes the album Mellotronic Belgian Blues and the stage musical Andrew Lloyd Webber: The Musical. Much of his work has focused on the North of England, Caucasus, sub-Saharan Africa, poverty, ethnoconflict and language/cultural genocide.
